Why Choose a Touchwood Cot?

There are many different cots on the market. Like everything, there are good ones and there are bad ones.  We believe there are important points you need to look for before you decide.

All Touchwood Cots are 4 in 1 cots.  They have the ability to go from;

1. Bassinet
2. Cot
3. First Bed
4. Sofa

Safety Standards
Does the cot you like comply to the current safety Standards?
Does it have any Standards Certification Mark?

  All Touchwood cots are produced in compliance with New Zealand / Australian safety standards and in factories that have achieved the Australian / New Zealand standard mark.  This mark certifies that the production centre has the processes and systems in place to make sure EVERY one of our cots is made to the highest standards. 
                

1. Mattress base
Compare the construction of the mattress base, the size of the timber used and the distance between the slats.  Note the sturdy support beam and the size of the main rails.
Compare the Touchwood double bolting system, which means the mattress base is firmly fitted.

2. Vertical bars
Compare the way the vertical bars are located. All TouchWood cots have the vertical bars individually dowelled for added strength.

3. Drop side
Compare the drop side mechanism.  Touchwood believe in a drop side that needs to be opened with two hands, instead of the currently fashionable one-handed version.

Why?  Because it is safer.  It can't be opened by shaking from inside the cot, or by another child from the outside. When you have picked up your baby, we suggest you leave the drop side in the lower position, ready for your return. 

Please Note - Cot Drawer
The Cot Drawer will need to be purchased at the same time when purchasing your cot, as they are manufactured and fitted together.

Please Note - Junior Bed End Attachment
Although Cot Drawers are a superb feature for extra storage, you cannot attached a Junior Bed End attachement onto a Cot that has a Cot Drawer. This is because the fittings used by the Cot Drawer will now be used by the Junior Bed End Attachment.
